German-American Club of Albany Dance
Enjoy yourself ballroom dancing to
waltz, foxtrot, quicksteps, and
more,
or doing a polka, at the German-American Club of Albany. This
dance is open to the general public, including couples and singles. It's a
great introduction to German food, music, and dance. Dinner is a grand buffet of various dishes. Cost is $20 per person. Not interested in dinner? Walk-ins are
very welcome for music and dancing at the regular admission price $6 per person.
- Saturday events: Doors open at 5:00 PM. Dinner served at 6:00 PM
- March: St. Patrick's Day Party - After the St. Patrick's Day Parade,
keep your green on and join us at the where everyone will be Irish!
- Live music from Big Wally.
- Dinner choices are Corned Beef and cabbage or Chicken cutlets
with Irish soda bread.
- April: Spring Schnitzelfest - Celebrate the beginning of spring.
- Live music from the Mountain Brauhaus Band.
- Dinner choices are Jaeger schnitzel (pork) or Chicken schnitzel
with mashed potatoes, and a vegetable medley.
- May: Bierfest - Enjoy an evening of German dinner and drink at the
at our German Bierfest.
- Live music from Herbert Liebenhagen.
- German Lagers, Pilsners, Bocks, and Hefeweizens will be
available.
- Dinner choices are German Goulash or Chicken in a creamy
mushroom sauce with red cabbage and vegetable
- Sunday outdoor events are at Schuetzenpark, a large pine tree shaded
grove, which is the last remaining outdoor Biergarten remaining in the
Capital District. Schuetzenpark opens at 1:00 PM. Entry into the grove is $3
per adult, children under 12 are free! Please note: Food and Drink cannot be
brought into the park. Tasty German foods and drink are available for
purchase as well as domestic food and drink. There will be activities for
children, along with a children's parade. In the event of rain, we will move
the entire event indoors in our large banquet hall and ballroom.
- Jun: Father's Day Picnic - On Father's Day treat your Dad to an
afternoon of honor at beautiful Schuetzenpark.
- Live music in our bandstand by the Schwarzennegger Connection
- July: Old Time German Day Picnic - Relive the old-time days when
German brass bands played loud Ompah music, beer flowed, and everyone
had a great time at Schuetzenpark.
- Live music in our bandstand by Big Wally.
- August: German Summerfest - As summer winds down and ends soon,
enjoy yourself at the last summer event at Schuetzenpark.
- Live music in our bandstand by the Mountain Tops.
- So grab and lift your Stein and sing a chorus of "Ein Prosit", which
boasts of good times and fellowship to all at the German-American Club of
Albany.
